Women's March on SacramentoNote: The below information has been taken from a press release from the National Organizers for the National Women's March on Washington with some minor reformatting/editing by DNS and includes Sacramento specific Information. We feel this is a very important event for everyone. Husbands supporting wives and for the good of humanity.
The National Women's March will happen on Saturday 1/21/17 in Washington, DC along with many other cities across the US and even right here in Sacramento. Their idea is to "stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families — recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country." The march to the California State Capitol building starts at 10am at Southside Park. The rally is from noon-5pm at the West steps of the Capitol building. You can find out more at their website womensmarchsac.com and here for the official statement that these excerpts were taken from. "The rhetoric of the past election cycle has insulted, demonized, and threatened many of us– women, immigrants of all statuses, those with diverse religious faiths particularly Muslim and Jewish, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Native and Indigenous people, Black and Brown people, people with disabilities, the economically impoverished and survivors of sexual assault. " "In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. The Women’s March on Washington and it’s sister marched throughout the country will send a bold message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. Stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us." "This is not an anti-movement; this is an opportunity for people to come together to stand for love, respect, and inclusion. This is an INCLUSIVE march, and EVERYONE who supports women’s rights are welcome”……. Dine DowntownThe Dine Downtown Restaurant Week is going on Jan 12-22 so get downtown and stuff your face. Food is an aphrodisiac they say. Burping not so much.... unless you're into that.
There will be no post this week other than a nice idea is to go to the snow with the one you love and have a hot cocoa or cider enjoying the whitescape. We enjoyed apple hill on Monday
