On Valentines Day we decided to get out of town. ROAD TRIP! After dilly dallying and in no hurry to get out of bed we finally left Sac for SF. The city by the bay called and it was on. Upon arrival we stumbled into a weird weather phenomenon; Summer. It was a bit too bright and warm for SF. Maybe we had strangely arrived in Phoenix. The car AC was on it the city and the freaks were out. Having a break in the cold weather everyone was out at our destination; Golden Gate Park. We didn't drive by the Full House TV houses, we didn't veer off the path to go to Fisherman's Warf we knew want we wanted. The Japanese Tea garden.

The Tea Garden is a slice of mossy, koi, path meandering heaven for us. It' our tourist trap and we soaked it up along with all the other Italian, Russian, German tourists and even a few Anime costume wearing visitors. It's a tee garden, it's Valentines so we had to stop at the trap in the middle of the garden and grub down on so so Japanese inspired cuisine. But at most tea service there needs to be finger sandwiches and this Gaijin snapped up the sandwich morsels without realizing it had been poisoned with Wasabi powder. Ok so it wasn't poisoned but for some reason I didn't notice on the board the inclusion but my mouth sure felt it. More green tea please!

Since my parents live in bay we decided it was only right we pop in to see those love birds and have a cup of "proper" british afternoon tea. Talking around the table sipping tea with our pinkies out as time went by. Eventually a cake appeared and there was much reveling. Chocolate, Coffee/Espresso with a heart shaped ring of raspberries. We never had it so good. After the sugar coma we managed to roll out as evening struck and the light started to go. The dark makes the trip home seem quicker in some ways or maybe it was the sugar plum fairies and their magic cake dust?????
