Peter Pan was off the hook. Both the production as well as the actor. The Ginger haired sprite was all over the stage and zinging up and down, throughways, sideways, upside down, summersaulting in mid air thanks to the trusty wires from the sky. You get the point; he flew all over. The guy was born for this role.
However, I'd have to say that in a few scenes he was upstaged by a dog. A big shaggy dog costumed actor rolling all over the floor but managing to bring the dog to life with emotion. The crowd loved it.
Hook.........Looky Looky at Hooky. He brought a foppish swagger to the stage and a handful of drunken sailors as well. Played a bit more cowardly than you might remember with a pinch of Johnny Depp Pirates of the Caribbean, Hook added a piece of dastardly hilarity to the production. What was he going to emote next? When Hook rode out on a tricycle with a pirate flag attached the patrons at the Community Theatre lost it. No ticking tocking was heard just laughter.
If you get the chance dream big and fly out of your window and see the Sacramento Ballet's Peter Pan. But, maybe show up 45 minutes late during intermission and miss the snouza....
