This was a grand idea. Too bad I didn't come up with it myself. Kudos to my sister in law Sally. I've known for some time about the Grand Island Mansion down the Delta from Sac. It certainly is a wedding venue but I did not realize it also does Brunch.
The mansion is fabulous with amazing grounds. Certainly a great place to get married. What about Brunch? Yes. On par with Las Vegas Buffets. Make a Sunday Brunch reservation here. Next lets look at the interior.
So we were in Awe of the grounds and the house and then we went indoors. Wow. Grand with a lot of detail built in with lots of spaces to have your wedding and several rooms for the whole party to stay in.
Above pictures are the whole gang. Cheryl and Me then Cheryl with her sister Sally that then goes to Sally with her boyfriend Tyler. We grubbed and certainly overstuffed ourselves. After two or three plates of meat, bread, salads, eggs, and pasta plus never ending mimosas we then hit the desserts. Chocolate mousse, chocolate strawberries, creme brulee, and bread pudding. We were in a food coma.
Paris Baguette Sacramento
Driving home one day I noticed a sign for some new businesses going in on howe ave. The new building stands where TGI Fridays used to be and nothing is actually inside the new building but three restaurants will eventually be.
The one that caught my eye was called Paris Baguette so I went online and did some research. it looked heavenly with all the Pastries. So we had to visit one. There were a few locations of Paris Baguette in the Bay Area and since we we're going thee any way we had to check it out.
Delish!. Two buffet rows o pastries another section for bread, a cooler full of drinks/desserts, and a grab n go area for savories. Plus tea and coffee behind the counter to be served. This place will be a great Date Night addition to go to. I emailed the company and they expect a early/mid 2017 grand opening. I know who's excited about that; THIS GUY!
We decided to drop in and see what it was like. The restaurant itself underwhelming and I'm guessing that they are still trying to figure out what to do. But, I can tell you the Croissant Bread Pudding was still smashing.
But I certainly started a good warm feeling off that night thanks to the concoction known as a SCORPION served in a hula girl bowl. Eastern Empire's food is quite good and big ups for the booths so two can snuggle or hand hold.
